The Leela Boxes are two lidded rectangular forms — one large, one small — each surface covered in a hand-etched geometric inlay of horn and bone. The diamond pattern runs continuously across every face, including the lids, with warm deep brown horn set against off-white bone. The etching within each horn piece gives the surface a shallow relief that reads differently at close range than from across a room. Stacked on a desk or low shelf, the boxes settle into the surface around them. A stack of books beside, a small object on top — the inlay pattern holds its own without competing with what surrounds it. The larger box beneath, the smaller above.
