An offset umbrella that hangs its 10-ft by 8-ft canopy from the side, leaving the seating area below completely clear. The tilt is stepless: loosen the lock, raise or lower the handle, and the shade holds at any angle against a low sun. Loosen the same lock and the canopy turns a full 360 degrees over the base that ships with it. Eight metal ribs sit in protective pockets under a 180-gram polyester canopy, and a crown vent lets heat and gusts pass through. A crank opens the shade easily and a loop strap binds it into a compact bundle.
