Behind a silver face rather than a black one, this 25 by 5 by 18 inch insert reads lighter against a pale mantel or a white media wall. Infrared quartz works with the heating resistor wire to move 5120 BTU into a 1000 square foot room, and the thermostat can be set anywhere from 60 to 99 degrees Fahrenheit. Six flame options, amber, violet, blue, polar, breathing and sleep, pair with five brightness levels and run without heat when the room is already warm. It draws 1500 watts, weighs 19 pounds and comes with a 6-foot cord plus overheat protection. Two AAA batteries for the remote are not supplied. Recess it into a framed wall or set it inside an existing surround.
