Recessed installation keeps this 28.5-inch unit flush with the wall, so nothing projects into a narrow room. Three flame colors, orange, blue and an orange-blue mix, combine with five brightness steps, and the flame runs on its own with the heater off through warm months. Heating uses two settings, low and high, drawing 750 or 1500 watts, while the thermostat holds the room between 62 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit. A timer switches it off anywhere from 0 to 8 hours ahead, which suits a bedroom where it should not run all night. The body measures 28.5 by 6 by 21 inches and weighs 27.5 pounds, light enough for two people to lift into a framed opening. Controls sit on the front face and stay reachable after the wall closes up.
