Yellow makes this 48-in wide 8-cube bookcase the color anchor of a child's room rather than background storage. Yellow is a rare finish for storage furniture, and on a 48-in wide bookcase it becomes the color anchor of a child's room or a studio rather than background joinery. Eight cubes come in two sizes - 23 x 12 x 10.5 in and 15 x 12 x 10.5 in - so wide baskets and narrow books both have a home. The top holds 132 lbs and each cube 44 lbs. Thickened board with screw connections brings the weight to 59 lbs across a 48 x 12.5 x 36.5 in frame, which is what keeps a low, wide unit from flexing.
