Six identical compartments run 70 in up the wall, each measuring 22.5 in by 8.5 in with 11 in of headroom, so a whole collection can be shelved without hunting for the one bay that happens to fit. The uniform openings also make it easy to move a run of books from one level to another as a library grows. A 9.5-in body keeps the tower tight to the wall, the frame is rated to 200 lbs in total, and two anti-toppling devices fix it in place. Sealed edges resist chipping on all six boards.
