Seven separate planter boxes on one 40 by 22 by 39 in frame, each measuring 20 by 7.5 by 6.5 in and rated for 11 lbs of soil. Splitting the growing area seven ways instead of pouring it into a single trough is what lets different species run their own soil, watering and harvest schedule without one crowding out another. The boxes sit staggered rather than stacked square, and the three layers are set with 14 in of clearance, so an upper box never casts its shadow over the one beneath and every plant gets full sunlight. Each box drops onto brackets on the supporting frame, which means lifting one out to replant or carry to a sink takes no tools. Under every box sits a removable tray with outlet holes: surplus water drains out of the soil, collects rather than dripping down onto the plants below, and the tray pulls free to empty. Two detachable storage baskets, each 18 by 20 by 2 in, span the bottom of the frame for the trowels, gloves and seed packets that otherwise get left behind. Four casters carry the whole thing, rolling smoothly enough to chase the sun across a season and locking to hold position once it is parked.
