A square canopy covers a square table, which is where an 8-ft by 8-ft offset umbrella beats a round one of the same span: the corners reach the seats instead of leaving them in sun. The double-tier canopy moves air between layers and a top vent bleeds off wind pressure to reduce tipping. Release the locking mechanism and the whole canopy turns 360 degrees to track the sun through the afternoon, while a crank lift opens and closes it smoothly.
