Three usable surfaces come out of one 23.5-in by 12-in by 31.5-in black cabinet. The top panel is rated at 77 lbs, which is enough to leave a loaded basket or a stack of folded towels sitting there full time instead of clearing it off whenever the cabinet is used. Directly beneath it, an open shelf holds whatever gets picked up several times a day with no door in the way. The enclosed cabinet at the bottom is where the rest goes, closed off by a pair of shutter doors whose louvered fronts break up what would otherwise be a flat slab of black. Its inner shelf is adjustable, carrying 22 lbs and moving to whatever spacing the contents actually need, so a row of tall bottles does not force short items to waste the headroom above them. Two metal knobs turn smoothly and stay easy to grab with wet hands. The body is built from P2 MDF, a board grade picked for sustained loading, and an anti-tipping device is designed in to stop the cabinet wobbling or tipping if a door is pulled hard or one shelf is loaded heavier than the other. Assembly is straightforward, with clear instructions and all the necessary hardware supplied, and the finished cabinet weighs 26 lbs in all. It is equally at home in a bathroom, a living room, or a bedroom.
