Leaf-shaped moulding across the face is the detail that sets these brown tiles apart: it adds friction underfoot for yoga and floor work, and it is pressed into both sides so a worn tile can simply be flipped. Twelve squares of 25 by 25 inches at 0.5 inch thick cover about 52 square feet, joined by 24 side strips that finish the perimeter. The high-density EVA foam is elastic enough to protect knees from a sudden knock, insulates a cold slab in winter and cuts the noise that would otherwise reach a neighbor below. Free of heavy metals and resistant to corrosion, the foam holds its shape for years. Total weight is 8 pounds, and the layout comes apart for storage in minutes.
