Three spoked wheels carry this tricycle planter, and behind the barrel sits a small open storage box for seed packets, twine, or a trowel. The barrel itself has an 8.5 by 6 inch interior and holds up to 11 pounds, enough for a single flowering plant or a cluster of succulents. Fir wood is treated by high-temperature carbonization, which darkens the grain to a coffee tone and makes the wood less prone to warping outdoors. A drainage hole at the bottom of the barrel releases excess water. The piece measures 21.5 by 11.5 by 13.5 inches and weighs 4.5 pounds, small enough for an entry hallway, a balcony, or the corner of a patio. A pair of gloves is included.
