The backrest lifts off entirely, which turns a hallway bench into a dining bench that slides under a table - one purchase covering two rooms. Set at 100 degrees, the spindle back supports the lower spine for long sitting rather than forcing an upright perch. Seat measures 39 x 15 in at 18 in high, with a 39 x 19 in backrest above, and the whole frame is solid rubber wood rated to 440 lbs. Net weight is 19 lbs. Black finish suits an entry with dark floors, and spindles keep the profile open rather than blocking light in a narrow hall.
