Front-facing tiers run the full 35 inch width of this rack, and each pocket is 3.5 inches deep, enough to hold oversized picture books, magazines and comics upright without them slumping sideways. Five tiers stack to 30 inches, sized so a child of 3 or older can see and reach every row. The display angle follows Montessori thinking: covers face outward, so choosing a story becomes the child's decision rather than a parent's. Rounded corners cut down on bumps in a busy hallway, anti-slip foot pads hold the base, and anti-toppling hardware fastens the frame to the wall. Engineered wood keeps it light at 38.5 lbs while the 36 by 15 inch footprint stays out of the walkway. The 15 inch depth also gives the loaded rack a stable stance when a child pulls a book from the top row.
