A 50 by 13 in climbing ramp and a climbing net rated to 110 lbs sit alongside the 15 in wide ladder entrance, with the climbing rope rated to 154 lbs, so the climb is part of the appeal rather than something to be negotiated in the dark. On the upper deck, guardrails stand 11.5 in above the mattress on the open sides, and 35 in of headroom is left between that mattress and the roof beams. The lower level keeps a low profile and uses an embedded platform so the mattress stays where it is put. The frame is drawn as a house, which means the roof beams and posts take hanging decorations. Construction is pine with MDF and plywood, running 14 slats on the upper deck and 7 on the lower, with extra support feet under the frame and every corner rounded and sanded splinter-free.
