Children who have somewhere of their own tend to invent more to do there. This wooden cottage gives them a front entrance, retro windows that open, two plant boxes and a pair of planter pots, so the play includes gardening and hosting as well as hiding. Fir wood construction and a tilted roof keep the weather out, and natural light through the side windows keeps the inside comfortable. Years later the same structure converts into a shelter for six to eight chickens, which is a rare second life for a toy. Suitable for children 3 to 8.
