Tambour doors slide sideways instead of swinging out, so this 18 by 16 by 19.5 in nightstand works in a room where a hinged door would hit the bed. Behind them sits a 12.5 by 12 by 5.5 in compartment with a shelf that repositions across three heights to suit bottles, books or a folded throw. Raised legs give 6 in of clearance, curved edges soften the corners, and the top carries 66 lbs.
