Muddy river bottoms and soft lake beds call for a different shape than open water does. The mushroom head settles in and holds, the tail fin resists dragging when the current pushes, and the heavy cast body does the rest. A vinyl coating wraps the whole anchor so it will not chip a gunwale when it comes aboard wet.
