Detachable is the useful word here: the 12 inch plush top perch lifts off this 44 inch tower for washing or for use as a standalone bed, which solves the problem of a fixed perch that collects fur and cannot go in the machine. A transparent space capsule measuring 12 by 6 inches sits mid-climb, satisfying a curious cat while letting an owner check on a kitten inside without disturbing it. Solid plywood and engineered wood build the frame over a 20 by 16 inch base, and each level carries up to 22 lbs. Sisal fully wraps the scratching posts, giving claws a proper target rather than leaving the sofa as the nearest option. A hanging pompom with a bell keeps a bored cat batting during the afternoon. At 20 lbs the tower is light enough to move between a window, a bedroom or a home office. Assembly is required and the base measures 20 by 16 inches for a steady climb.
