Fifty gallons is a large laundry basket, and the wheels are what make that size practical rather than unwieldy. A basket holding two or three loads is heavy when full, and carrying it is how laundry ends up piled beside the machine instead of in it. On wheels it rolls to the wash and back. The basket is round, 23.6 in across and 31.9 in tall, which is a shape that matters more than it seems. A round basket has no corner to catch a hip when you walk past in a narrow bathroom, and clothes dropped in settle rather than wedging into a square corner where they have to be pulled out. The liner is removable, so it lifts out with the contents and becomes the carrier for the last few feet into the drum. Construction is steel with 600D polyester fabric, and that denier weight is what keeps the sides from slumping as the basket fills. Assembled weight is 10.1 lb. The tall narrow proportion means a large capacity from a footprint that still fits beside a bath or in a bedroom corner.
